A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
Nature is my place of happiness, reflection, and an outlet to reset. Instead of smelling the rain on the leaves of my happy place, or feeling the hot sun on my back in the desert, this year, spring of 2020 I spent my time in my apartment under quarantine lock-down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The longer I sat checking off a continuous list of planned trips that will no longer be, I started to look back longingly at the landscapes I have captured in the past wishing I could explore once again. And then I realized I could.
Although I hadn’t left my apartment, I was once again able to look out at vast mountain ranges, grassy fields, and be transported into each world I created, even if only for a moment. It may not be the reality I am used to, but it allowed me to explore and to create in a brand-new way.
